Dr. Patrick Blohm:

The founder and medical director of The Georgia Center For Reproductive Medicine is Dr. Patrick L. Blohm. Born in Wisconsin, Dr. Blohm grew up in North-central Illinois. After graduating as the Salutatorian of his High School class, he graduated Cum Laude from Saint John’s University with a degree majoring in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. During his time at St. John’s, he was awarded the Joseph B. Gaida academic scholarship for being the most promising pre-medical student in his college class.

Dr. Blohm obtained his M.D. degree from Rush University Medical School in Chicago. As a medical student, he was not only involved in in vitro fertilization in both the human and Rhesus Monkey model, but he also was inducted as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society; an honor recognizing the very top medical graduates in the country. After medical school, Dr. Blohm secured a position at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore were he completed his four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

After residency, Dr. Blohm was selected for the single Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship position available at the Duke University Medical Center. Both Johns Hopkins and Duke University have been consistently rated as two of the best teaching hospitals in the country. After finishing his medical training, Dr. Blohm has been in private practice in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for 21 years. He is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Blohm has always maintained an interest in teaching and feels that it is very important to help train the next generation of physicians. For this reason, he is a faculty member of The Mercer University School of Medicine and is responsible for the infertility rotation of the OB/GYN residency in Savannah.

In closing, Dr. Blohm believes that it is his hallmark to treat every patient as an individual, as well as be frankly honest so that every patient understands his or her unique situation, treatment options, and realistic chance of success. Dr. Blohm and his wife are the proud parents of two boys.
